About the role
The Mining Mate is responsible for supervising and coordinating day-to-day mining activities at the worksite. The role focuses on ensuring safe operations, effective workforce deployment, production target achievement, and compliance with mine safety procedures and statutory requirements.
Key responsibilities
- Supervise daily mining and excavation activities.
- Ensure safe working practices at the mine site.
- Allocate work to mining workers and monitor their performance.
- Check working areas, benches, faces, haul roads, and equipment conditions.
- Coordinate with Mining Engineers, Supervisors, Surveyors, and equipment operators.
- Monitor production activities and maintain required records.
- Ensure compliance with mine safety rules and statutory regulations.
- Report unsafe conditions, incidents, and operational issues promptly.
- Support drilling, blasting, excavation, loading, and transportation activities as applicable.
- Maintain proper housekeeping and discipline at the worksite.
Qualifications and experience
- Diploma/ITI in Mining Engineering or relevant mining-related qualification.
- 2–5 years of experience in mining operations, preferably in open-cast mines.
